How the shop works
People arrive holding a phone the way you hold something injured. That is the first thing the bench answers: the device is placed on a clean field, the serial is written down, and the fault is named out loud before anything is opened. No shrug, no “we’ll see what we find.”
Most of what walks in is glass, batteries, and charge ports — honest, fixable damage. The rest is the work that shops turn away: corrosion under a shield, a backlight line lifted off a board, a charge IC that reads fine until the phone gets warm. That work takes magnification, a steady hand, and the willingness to say a repair is not worth your money.
Parts are graded and the grade is on your quote. A screen is either OEM-pull, OEM-grade, or aftermarket, and you are told which one before you agree to it — because a year from now, that is the difference you will feel.
A device is somebody’s photographs, their bank, their children’s voices. It deserves a proper bench.
